Eufy, the Anker-owned smart home brand, has launched a new security camera on Kickstarter… EverCam.
A completely wireless security camera with motion detection, night vision, facial recognition software, a capability of recording Full HD video and an impressive one-year battery life.
EverCam is designed to get you the freedom to install it anywhere you want. No cables, wall outlets or drill holes. The camera can be attached to the included mount or any existing metal surface using built-in magnets.
Amazing Battery Life
As we wrote at the beginning, Eufy is owned by Anker (a worldwide battery and charging tech leader), so you should expect an excellent battery life. EverCam is having the power to run for 365 days on a single charge with motion monitoring or fantastic 3 years in standby mode. The camera is working this way – it stays in low-power mode until it detects motion, and then it will start recording.
The Eufy EverCam is applying a 3 step scanning and filtering process which leads to fewer false alarms from animals or random moving objects. The facial recognition software analyzes the figure to determine if it´s human or not. After that, it analyzes the person´s face if it matches the database and sends you a notification if it is a trusted face.
The camera has a 140˚ wide-angle lens with a large f2.2 aperture that provides a panoramic view in high definition. During the day, the EverCam is recording sharp and bright video footage, and when the night comes, it is capturing a crisp and clear video with its night vision feature.

The included microSD card is protected by AES 128-bit encryption to make you sure that your data are safe. To access your footage, you need to insert the microSD card into the base station, that communicates with your smartphone or PC. What does it mean for you? The footage is accessible without a need for cloud subscription. According to Eufy, the card can hold up to 12 months of recording at normal usage.
Another cool safety feature is the anti-theft alarm. The camera is equipped with sirens (100 decibel sound) which will be activated if the EverCam is being moved without your permission.
Although the Eufy EverCam isn’t cheap, it has already blown past its funding target on the Kickstarter. At $299 for a single camera and $499 for a pair, this security camera is really an expensive hardware, but if you like the idea of a device that can be placed almost anywhere, you can support the Kickstarter campaign.
