Change The VLC Language From The Interface

STEP 1: Open VLC Media Player.

STEP 2: Go to the Tools menu and click on Preference.

STEP 3: Now, find the Languages option and click on the dropdown menu under Menus Languages.

STEP 4: From all the options, select the menu and interface language you prefer.

Change The VLC Language Using Shortcut

Sometimes can happen that the VLC media player opens in a language you don’t understand. And what’s even worse, in language that is using different alphabet symbols. For this situation, you should use a shortcut.

STEP 1: Open VLC Media Player.

STEP 2: Hit Ctrl + P to open the preferences window.

  1. Sorry, there is no Language option on my VLC. It is VLC media player 3.0.17.2 Vetinari on Linux Fedora 35 KDE Plasma. On previous versions it installed with the menu language that is used on the system, which is English on my system, and which is what I want. Now it is fixed to something else like a local input locale which is something that I do not want, because I often change my local input locale for using different keyboards (latin, cyrillic, greek, arabic, hebrew etc.), but menu choices are unique standard international technical terms that I do not want to be changed.
