Comments can have a huge impact on how your post is performing on Instagram.
You know the rule. To get engagement, you have to give it. By replying to your comments, you’re not only showing your audience love, but you’re also boosting your chances of increasing your posts’ visibility.
However, the comment section is also a great place for online bullying and unwanted interactions. Luckily, Instagram has introduced new ways (features) to fight back against unwanted, negative comments.
In other words, Instagram lets you delete comments in bulk, as well as block or restrict multiple accounts that post negative comments.
How To Delete Instagram Comments In Bulk
According to the Instagram blog, the new features mark the continuation of the effort to lead the industry in the fight against online bullying.
With the first new feature, you can easily manage unwanted interactions. While you could already delete individual comments on Instagram, to handle hundreds of comments under each post could be difficult. Now, you can delete up to 25 Instagram comments in bulk.
Here’s how to enable this feature on Android and iOS:
Tap on a comment and then the dotted icon in the top right corner.
Select Manage Comments and choose up to 25 comments to delete at once.
Tap More Options to block or restrict accounts in bulk.
To block or restrict accounts on Android, press and hold on a comment, tap the dotted icon, and select Block or Restrict.
Highlighting positive comments: In addition to this, you have (will have) an option to highlight positive comments under each post. Yes, Instagram is testing Pinned Comments. A feature that gives users of Instagram a new way to engage with their community by pinning a select number of comments to the top of their comments thread.
Choosing who can tag and mention you: The last new feature Instagram is rolling out is a set of new controls that allow users to manage who can tag or mention them on Instagram. Users can choose whether he wants everyone, only people he follows or no one to be able to tag or mention him in a comment, caption, or Story.
