One of these features is the ability to re-connect to Wi-Fi you already used. It’s very useful if you are often moving from one place to another because you don’t need to typing a password every time you connect to the network.
Why? Because when you connect a Windows 10 device to a new Wi-Fi network, it is instantly added in a list of profiles along with its password and other settings.
But, what if you want to stop your laptop from connecting to a network automatically? No worries, there is a simple way, how to make Windows 10 forget the Wi-Fi network.
Note: Forgetting and reconnecting a Wi-Fi network will also often solve some issues you are having with your wireless network.
Fastest Way To Forget A Saved Wi-Fi Network
The fastest and easiest way is to use the system tray.
Step 1
Open the Wi-Fi popup from your notification area, also known as the system tray.
Step 2
Right-click the name of the network you want to forget and select Forget.
Important: This method only works if you are in the range of the Wi-Fi network, so you can see it on the list.
However, if you need to delete a Wi-Fi network your device can’t see at the moment, you’ll need to use the Settings app.
How to forget a wireless network in Windows 10 via the Settings app
Step 1
Click the Network icon on the lower right corner of your screen.
Step 2
Now, click the Network & Internet Settings.” This will open a new page on your computer.
Step 3
Click Wi-Fi on the left-hand side of the new page.
Step 4
Click on Manage known networks, and then select which network you want to remove from your Windows 10 device.
Step 5
Click Forget. Now, the wireless network profile is deleted.
